Privacy

Short, because there isn't much to say. Last updated 15 September 2026.

Who we are

The BTYSHU website and app are run by Arcscribe Ltd (arcscribe.co.uk).

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party embeds. The site doesn't run any JavaScript at all.

The setup form

When you submit a setup we receive your name, your email address, the car and kit details you enter, and any notes. It reaches us by email and isn't stored on the web server.

We use it to review your setup, to contact you if we have a question and, if we list the setup, to credit you by first name when you've asked us to. Your email address is never published or shared.

To stop spam, the web server keeps your IP address in memory to limit how often the form can be sent. It isn't written anywhere, and it's forgotten within about an hour.

The app

BTYSHU doesn't need an account and doesn't send your journeys or location to us. Journeys are stored on your device.

Some features use the network. Outside England, and on roads the offline data doesn't cover, speed limits are looked up from OpenStreetMap's public servers, which means sending the position being looked up. Journey maps can load map tiles from Mapbox when you're online. If you set up syncing to a server of your own, journey data goes to that server and nowhere else.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Contact Arcscribe through arcscribe.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
